![]() July 07, 2003 - 8:23 PM Boycott Blockbuster ![]() A couple of weeks ago I rented 4 movies from the local Blockbuster. They were all returned at the same time, on the same day, prior to the due time. A week ago I received a notice in the mail saying that 3 of these DVDs were overdue and that I owed a late fee of some sort. I called the store and asked to speak to a manager. At first "Andrew" started giving me the run-around. When I protested that I had indeed returned the DVDs together on the same day. I supposed when he realized I was serious when I said I wasn't going to pay for DVDs I returned, he paused a minute, I heard a few keyboard clicks and he informed me that my account was "cleared". Although by the sound of his voice I could tell he regarded me as a "deadbeat". Today I received a notice in the mail that 2 of the DVDs were overdue and that Blockbuster had charged $52 to my Visa card. Funny, I thought "Andrew" said he had "cleared" my account. I called the Blockbuster store and spoke with "Andrew" again. This time he was even less willing to help me. Eventually he said he couldn't and wouldn't remove the charge from my account and gave me the name of the STORE manager. Hmmm, if I had known "Andrew" was merely an assistant manager I wouldn't have wasted my time with him. Tomorrow I will call "Richard" and tell that I returned the DVDs and to take the charge off my account. If he refuses to "help" me I will ask for his district managers name and contact #. If the district manager fails to refund my money, I will take this the corporate. And if that does not work I am telling contacting Visa customer service and telling them that the charge is bogus. There are a couple of things that really bother me about this. 1) They are trying to steal $52 dollars from me. 2) "Andrew" deceived me. Instead of actually "clearing" my account he cleared one of the videos out. 3) I've been a customer with this particular block buster for close to 10 years and they are treating me like scum. Either way I am going to cancel my Blockbuster account. I will also cancel my Visa card if they give me a hard time. So please, do what I am going to do. ![]() and join ![]() Thank you. Addendum:Goddamn sonofabitch pussylicking tripod!! Boycott them too. ![]()
