Pendulum

It is very strange to be in the mindset where you are waiting for someone to die, to know that death is imminent. It is different when you have known for the past couple of years that a disease if fatal. A different thing knowing someone will die and then being certain someone will die soon. That the pendulum has swung closer. It is within inches now. And you just stand there and watch and wait. Even though you saw the pendulum start to swing 2 years ago, it is so very different when it begins to graze the fine hairs on the condemned.

This is weird and creepy.
